Hysterectomies are one of the most common surgical procedures performed due to various indications. Abdominal, laparoscopic and vaginal approaches accounted for the vast majority of hysterectomies.
A TLH is defined by the laparoscopic ligation of the ovarian, and uterine vessels and various ligaments (supports of uterus) with the removal of the uterus vaginally, along with laparoscopic closure of the vaginal cuff.
Laparoscopic approach results in shorter hospital stay, quick recovery , less post operative pain and better cosmetic scar compared to abdominal approach.
For each and every patient different approach is suitable depending upon condition and indication of patient.
